The ability to inverse the vertical mouse zoom on the timeline. Up = in, down = out.

autozooming in arrange would also be nice... all this zooming one has to do in arrange...really hurts the workflow and the overview is extraordinarily bad compared to other daw´s arrange windows.

this maybe could go together with an expandable overview stripe... its ok to roughly orientate but when it would be bigger in arrange it could be a selector window for the part of arrange that gets shown...

realisticily you have an overview of 6-8 expanded tracks in the arranger on smaller screens, what is not much overview..

the zoom with the magnifying glas should be performed with an extra keypress than.. otherwise we have a normal curser and just clicking in the area of interest bring us there with the last zoom setting...

in general vertikal zooming is needed in the arranger.. and as said in the begining... with autozoom and/or expand of selected tracks

So in short a total overhaul of the arranger graphics with smart zoom options wouldnt hurt..

even to the extend to involve 3d graphical ellements to show grouptracks..that of cause get name bars like other arrange objekts... this together with multiple arrange versions... and the arranger would be fun

I would love the ability to nest Group Tracks inside other Group tracks.

+1. one simple but really nice use for groups is to provide two levels of faders, so that you can do for example volume automation on a track, but then balance it against other tracks using a group wrapped around the automated ones. stacking this up a couple of layers would make it really quick to do certain kinds of mixing, for example, ride the volume on the individual drum parts, then group all the hihat tracks together, group all the snares together, balance them against each other using their group faders, then group the hihat, snare, kick and percussion groups together and balance the whole drum kit.

same goes for treating big collections of background vocals, where maybe you have two or three tracks of a single part sung in unison, automate those individually, then balance all the parts against one another, then finally balance the background vocals against the other parts in the song.

??? good for mixing? isnt it enough to have sub groups? even them are not realy necessary on a digital mix...

nested groups is a rather useless idea IMO.. I would opt for real clip groups that control the internal clips and allow more overview in editing..

just for mixdown one instance of groups was enough for any production on the planet sofar...
but its not enoug for you? ok...

haha, yesterday you wrote this in another thread:
you dont have to see the enviroment just as one big routing matrix.. you can have little sub enviroments that are just for one track..where the lower half of your keyboard plays 5 synthezisers and the upper part 12 samplers...
wit a lot of delay,s apregiators and chordmemorzers or whatever involved..
ther was freaks that created enviroments where one key press was performing a whole song..
but today you're a routing minimalist  .

There is already, effectively, nesting of groups in Live. Drum racks are effectively a group, they unfold in the mixer as one, and they can be nested within one another as well as within groups. I like that a lot. I guess you wouldn't want to make use of that feature. But it's really pretty useful. Would be nice if you could do it with ordinary tracks instead of only with drum racks.

It's all good; I like Live's routing as it is, I won't stop using it or become a troll on the Logic user's forum ( ) if they don't implement this feature.

exactly.. the drum and instrument racks are another instance allready... and i get a headache allready with the bad overview we have now even without adding even more instances... that would be a real nightmare and i strongly recomend to clean up what is there first... overview was one of the main features of the first versions of live.. but that is long gone...

and my example in the midi thread just was an example what one can do with logic.. and its still just parallel tracks and not nested ones...

However..this list is way to big for just L9 allready.. would be an interesting questions what people would choose if they only could go for one wish...

i guess nested groups is not high on the priority list of anybody wright now...

then why not make some kind of poll with all frek recurent ask?,

im sure TOP01 is Automation to Session, i can't imagine it could be someting else for anyone being a little logic..

but would be interesting to see 4 or 5 most wanted next results...there could have various battling challengers..

autoMation to session is absolutely a needed feature, we wait that for to long.
I just want to tweak a pot and the clip is done, then another pot and done,
being able to record with independant enveloppe loop time, or fixed cirular buffer type, and the even greater
avaible third mode would be circular that overide only if detects change, to make a low animated autom looping,
then increment live some spikes here and here. As I was fed up waiting i went to usine that allow me this.
this is 100 percent sure for me this is the best system ever, this is stricly linked and logic way with the initial
abe session original idea, it's like it's 50 percent fucked, and for 8 version now.
how long, damned, how long we will need to tear for that, they play live at ableton, no?, don't they feel from
years there is an illogical issue here? iam , really awaiting that for too long.
Im so fed up with having to rec to arrangment, stop , find and select the automation or clip, copy , clear the clip,
go back to session, copy new rec automation or clip. this is an insane waste of time and you loose all pleasure
and spontaneous live tweaking Vs what would be a circular incremental to clip param automation.
if not releasing automation, please abes atleast make a script sytem that automatize such process.
it's faily doable for a script to select last reced envelope array from arrangement and paste it back to a clip no?
I presume from such a big compagny like ableton with has about hundred people? no?

my number one is clearly group track master edit for all including tracks ..with ableton style graphical representation..= group clips... with follow actions of cause and as said a multi clip editor function...

that would allow to dont work in arrange at all an so allow an enhanced multtrack pattern based workflow.
