hmmm, my MacBookPro seems to be slow compared to other posts, maybe Live 7 is more optimized than 6.
Update: CPU 49-54% with 8 tracks after 10.5.7 update on my MacBookPro !

when I look at results, there are two things, which seem to be wrong with this test and maybe with Live.
1. 4-core systems have better results than 8-core
2. about 20% CPU load on 4 or 8 cores with this easy test - some samples and 16 reverbs is definitely TOO MUCH!!!

1) Ableton Live CPU Meter 71%, solid throughout
2) Desktop Dual G5 2.5 Ghz
3) Operating System OSX 10.4.11
4) Ableton Live version 8.0.1
5) Dual G5 2.5 Ghz
6) 2.5 GB RAM
7) Onboard Soundcard

Not too surprising, I just played some patches in (Cakewalk) Rapture softsynth which taxed Live beyond 100% CPU capacity for a *single* track.
