I've become a camera geek, and the sweetest thing about the 4S is the camera. 8 megapixel is cool, but having a fast lens that goes to f2.4 is rad. It's not compelling enough for me to upgrade, but impressive and lust worthy for a camera phone.

I agree that the watch accessory for the nano is compelling (a nerd in our office has worn a third party one for a while now). The new watch faces are great. Will I buy? No. I'd much rather spend $150 on a Countryman Type 85 DI box.

I'd rather say than type. They wouldn't have Siri unless it worked.

I'm still on the 3Gs and I am going to be upgrading POST HASTE. Looks friggin sweet and I think the Siri is going to be a game changer. Quote me on that.

I have a theory as to why they named this the 4s instead of the 5. A lot of people are still locked into a 2 year contract with AT&T with the iPhone 4. Then mid year Verizon got the iPhone so those people are even greener on their contracts. And now they added Sprint which is meh whatever, but good to have options. Of course the same type thing has been going on outside the US.

So whatever they decided to name the thing sales are going to be less than their usual HOLY SHIT because a lot of people still have a fairly new iPhone. 4s instead of 5 gives off the impression you shouldn’t expect much in improvement or sales numbers. In fact sales will probably be reported as better than expected.

I wonder what Apple’s next naming move is going to be on Mac OS because OSX has a nice ring to it but can’t last forever and Lion is pretty much top of the cat food chain. So now what?

So on the hardware end Apple announced the iPhone 4s and on the software end the iPhone 4 will be getting iOS 5bs.

I think you are mistaken about this. i think the sales numbers are going to be mind-melting over the next year. And I think I lines for it are going to be the longest we've seen by far. Remember, enough people RIGHT NOW are still buying the 3Gs to make it the second most popular phone sold in the U.S. - and that's 2.5 years after it was released!

^ well, technically they're practically giving away 3Gs at 50 bucks (or less) so the playing field is a little skewed on that one.
