Thanks for spoiling it for those of us who haven't seen it yet.

Seriously? It's the premise of the entire movie, not exactly a 'spoiler'.

True Grit was well cool.

Full of quirky Cohen Bruvs humour...great performances... visually stunning..

Love the way they all speak, got that Fargo feel.

Triffic movie.

Troll Hunter.

That is all.

Oh and Mr Oizo's new film:

Rubber (about a murderous Tyre).

I saw no one cutting off their arm in the preview... My guess is that the film makers figured it just might have more dramatic impact if it were not expected.

I don't read reviews or critiques of films before I go to them. Nor do I ask my friends for reviews. I think the film itself is best qualified to tell it's tale.

By your logic I could argue that revealing the mystery of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho to someone about to watch it for the first time is permissible. :?

To be fair this movie was based on a real event that everybody knows about, and which the film pointedly declares is the basis. It's kinda like if they made a movie called "9-11" and someone said the world trade center gets blown up at the end, not a spoiler really.

I haven't seen the film, but I'm told (and have read) that the arm cutting is almost incidental to a remarkable overall story. It's about this guy's journey, really, not about the arm.

So, while it kinda sucks that you didn't know that plot point, I don't think it's by any means a 'Psycho: OMFG It's his DEAD MOTHER up there and he's cross dressing! moment.

Not bad, you did it again. I honestly didn't think you would go there. Oh well, I guess it's true what they say: give a man enough rope & he will hang himself. :|

I can keep doing that all day long.

All. Day. Long.

This.

Nevermind the fact the original news story was broadcast ad-fucking-nauseum around the world.

Nevermind that there was enormous press coverage when Danny Boyle announced he was going to do the film.

Nevermind there was nonstop coverage and news reports and reviews when the movie was released and nearly every single one revealed the arm incident. NPR alone must have done 50 fucking shows and interviews about this movie.

You'd have to live in a cave to not know about this.
