Got Maschine last week... spending a little time on it here and there. It truly is as good as they say, especially with the 1.5 update.

I love Drum Racks for chopping/sampling, etc, truly... but this takes the cake.

MPC: you're done.

Sleep? Who needs it.

Not sure if this is directed at me, but I've realised that my response to timothy is actually a little unclear. You can record midi out of maschine, but with the caveat that you lose maschine's internal sounds and need to use other instruments to generate sound. Futher more you have to get a little creative if you want to use mutliple different sound sources as currently ableton doesn't allow you to select which channels other tracks receive from a vst in a sense limiting you to one channel of midi out (why I prefer the drag and drop method). Also be aware that the vst is the only way of getting midi out right now as a plug in, the au doesn't offer this.

If you want to use maschine's internal sounds you'll need to drag and drop midi out of maschine and then use that to retrigger maschine.
MBP 2.4, Live 7, Logic 8, Maschine, Audio 2 DJ, Sennheiser HD 25 1 II, M-Audio Fasttrack Pro, Komplete 6, Novation Nocturn, Alesis Micron, Jap Fender Jaguar, lots of guitar pedals...

Went crazy on it last night in standalone mode and it ruled. However, I couldn't figure out how to save it... You can save patterns, groups, and fx seperately, but how do I save the whole project? In the manual it shows how to save each thing seperately but not the whole project... I feel stupid having to ask this. Whenever I tried saving it would say I cannot save in this folder, and I tried various folders.

the first time via software (this is the only ever time you need to touch the computer, to give the project a name) and you do it like in any other software over the menu or command+S mac, or alt+S PC (i believe?) and then you can save from then on via maschine by pressing shift + save (the snap button, there is save written above it) on the maschine itself.

@adam

Are you running windows 7? Maybe try to save it in your "My Documents" folder, coz the others might be writeprotected if you are not using an administrator-account.

good point also if you save a project with all of your sounds (similar to collect all and save in ableton) then you can't save into the maschine library project folder... i created a maschine projects folder outside of the maschine library, cause i save all my projects with the sounds...

Tomorrow I am actually going VINYL HUNTING to get more sounds to sample (I've pretty much exhausted my current paltry collection).

Am still loving Maschine (even though I've had no time this week). And, what is more, I've only crashed it good-and-proper once!

I think I confused it is all. Pressed far too many buttons at the same time and it freaked out. Haven't managed to recreate the crash, so all is well in my book.

Maschine forces me to rearrange everything in the setup so as she (she?) can be the center of the whole stuff...

and i'ts definitively GOOD :D

(I'm waiting for a Tetra and a Jomox T-resonator to be shipped, and they already have their place on the left of maschine... everything's gonna be coooooooooooooool 8) )

cheers
