Not sure if this is directed at me, but I've realised that my response to timothy is actually a little unclear. You can record midi out of maschine, but with the caveat that you lose maschine's internal sounds and need to use other instruments to generate sound. Futher more you have to get a little creative if you want to use mutliple different sound sources as currently ableton doesn't allow you to select which channels other tracks receive from a vst in a sense limiting you to one channel of midi out (why I prefer the drag and drop method). Also be aware that the vst is the only way of getting midi out right now as a plug in, the au doesn't offer this.
If you want to use maschine's internal sounds you'll need to drag and drop midi out of maschine and then use that to retrigger maschine.
