That alone is making me skip it all together. I've owned all three before this, but the 3GS doesn't need fixing, no reason to replace it with a phone that doesn't need AT&T's help at not making calls.
This will end up being the only Apple product I don't own. Way to blow it, butt fucks.

Really? The fact you MAY have to slap the rubber bumper on it for a better connection or as LSZ reported it's just a software reporting issue is grounds for dismissal? What kind of chick "I don't like the strap on those shoes" excuse is that?
Not saying your 3GS isn't good enough but I think that's silly.
And really shouldn't we wait for a report from the masses as to how valid a problem it is?

If that speed test video's not faked, I bet a beer that there'll be a recall and at least six months till the relaunch...

We shall see but I doubt Apple would overlook this obvious issue in testing.

iPhone = $199
Rubber Bumper = $29
Really? You sell me a product that does not work at all like it is supposed to, then tell me I have to spent 15% the price of the phone to get it to work the way it should? I'm counting down the minutes until the first class action lawsuit is filed. Those bumpers should be free if they are required to get the phone to work.

beats, I'd fucking wait on that i4. That report - from an UnGodly amount of people - seems pretty convincing.
Still, I'd buy an iPhone that needed to be held in place with the assistance of my cock rather than suffer through a Droid experience.

Finally hit CNN.

DAMN YOU STEVE JOBS!!!!!!!!!!
Weirdness. I mean, the iPad - for being a brand spanking new platform that no one has ever done before - has been REMARKABLY bug free. Sure, there were some reported problems with wifi on the wifi-only units, but those complaints seemed few and far between and 99% of them were the result of fuckwads spilling pizza sauce on them. I've had zero issues with mine. That's pretty fucking amazing when you think about it.
But this iP4? Damn. DAMN.
I can only chalk this up to running low on that magic fairy dust that is sprinkled on all Apple products to give them that healthy glow.

Hehe, well, my wifi still drops regularly - yes, it's a wifi-only unit, and no, no pizza sauce in sight. I've found that toggling the power switch gets the wifi back, but it's still occasionally irritating, especially if you're in the middle of writing a forum post about the wifi bug. But for my usage, it's not so dramatic, and it's pretty much the only bug I've found. I would bet another beer though that there's a bigger technology jump, more real 1st gen stuff being tried out, between the old iPhone and the iPhone 4, rather than the old iPhone -> iPad.

Ok, crisis over:

This is a nice little article about some reasons why this mess can easily happen:

I'm hard
When Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone 4 at Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, he described the integrated antenna as "really cool engineering"

Not sure about that. The new processor alone put the iPad into a new category; different core, new clockspeed. There was a host of other magical innovations that first saw the light of day with the iPad as well. Like how it can turn your frown upside-down!
Shame about your wifi bug. You should have held out for the 3G.
