I'll speak for the simpletons here. If it wasn't for the dude cutting his arm off I would have zero interest in the movie, none. In fact even knowing he cut his arm off I have zero interest in the movie and the previews don't exactly paint a compelling reason to see the movie. It looks like a movie made for the "I don't even own a television" demographic. I own a television and I watch it frequently.

Nice usage of Antonioni's Zabriskie Point in a music video: Moths - <3 on Vimeo (half spoiler alert? not really eh? - cautious now…)
Love Antonioni's stuff...
Sound starting @1:42 = highly confusing on headphones. Impulse response through impulse response???

OK, you found out my secretLoopStationZebra wrote: Nevermind the fact the original news story was broadcast ad-fucking-nauseum around the world.
Nevermind that there was enormous press coverage when Danny Boyle announced he was going to do the film.
Nevermind there was nonstop coverage and news reports and reviews when the movie was released and nearly every single one revealed the arm incident. NPR alone must have done 50 fucking shows and interviews about this movie.
You'd have to live in a cave to not know about this.

It Happened Here
1965
UK
Kevin Brownlow & Andrew Mollo
Alternate History: England lost the Battle of Britain. The year is 1944, & the Nazis occupy Britain. Amazing work with an equally incredible production history.

Dogtooth
2009
Greece
Giorgos Lanthimos
Bizarre drama about home-schooling (as in complete isolation) taken to disturbing extremes.

The Kingdom
Series 1 & 2
1994 - 1997
Denmark
Lars von Trier
Wonderful black comedy-horror! Actors all display incredible comedic timing. More please!

Qatsi Trilogy anyone? Koyaanisqatsi is still the milestone of social aimed videoart...
Godfrey Reggio, Ron Fricke and Philip Glass are to blame...
What about Stroszek or Aguirre by Werner Herzog?
Inland Empire? Lost Highway? Mulholland Drive?
Have you heard of Krzysztof Kieslowski?

When the cranes are flying by Mikhail Kalatozov, USSR 1957.
Ossessione, Visconti, to stay in Europe.
Imagine making a movie in Italy in 1943.
Pasolini.
