not playing along is fine and all, but in the end it just means that you have no say. i'm not impressed or proud of either option, but it's plain to see certain options coming to fruition if Romney is made Führer.

Wrestling with your conscience about voting for the lesser of 2 evils seems to be a left wing trait.
Meanwhile, the right are happy to do whatever is necessary to make sure the lefties don't get in.
Result- republicans shift gradually further right and democrats have to try to appeal more to the middle ground to keep votes.

Well, if it's an illusion then that implies that you
don't have a say.
At least local politics is more tangible.

hedging the bets, i will definitely vote...and not to forget, there are important down-ballot races and local initiatives, referendums that do need attention and do directly effect life....not to toss the Baby with the Bathwater
if the are acting, they should both get oscars, because its clear those two hate eachother, just watch tonight for obama to throw that stinkeye, and romney to flash the 'masta' look...its all in the micro expressions, that shits almost impossible to fake

this.
there are two propositions for public schools on the ballot in California, prop 30 and prop 38. those need to pass. it doesn't matter if they are dem or repub crafted. both make taxes a wee bit higher... but for me, at least, i'd rather pay more taxes for schools than most other things. in this case most of the tax money goes directly to the schools, not the school administration... so it's not like paying higher taxes so that the district superintendent gets a raise. it's more like the kids get those new books... so my vote counts. a prime example of why sitting on my hands instead of voting or selecting only green party measures (for example) would be irresponsible.

sad thing is you shouldn't have to pay more taxes for that - they could just take a few of the $65,000 toilet seats out of the military budget

^ it's worse than that.
we're building a "bullet train" from northern cali to southern cali that no one needs. it will cost billions. it will take 30 years. if we used that money to educated the hundreds of thousands of students, that we
could educate in that time frame, there's a good chance that one of them would go on to invent something more useful. we'll never find out though... buh bye money... see you again when i'm almost 70.
