question: why is your moog looking so lonley and not used? i have a warm fuzzy home for it where it could sit right next to daddy at the big kid table all day.

I sample the moog through the triton usually. It deserves to be closer to the mother ship, but I need to get it serviced big time. Nothing like waiting for the oscillators to warm up like a vintage engine....

yeah glu, i surf. i am on the south shore and our summer swells have begun just got out of the water a little bit ago. radio is on hold but i will begin soon.

Last time I was there, I surfed at graveyards. The reef there is killa!

I tried to surf in April when I was visiting my buddy in Brazil. I had surfed a few times in high school in Floirda, but I never could do it. So, in Brazil, Florianpolis to be exact, I was able to paddle out, duck dive, and then suddenly my abilities stopped. Once I got beyond the breaks, I kept going. I was on a short board and no matter what I did I couldn't get it to move in the direction of the shore. I didn't anticipate that! You'd think that a sleek surfboard like that would zip around in the water when you're paddling... not the case. I guess you have to 'know your board' and find the sweet spot so when you paddle you actually move.

So anyway, before I got sucked out to Antarctica my buddy paddled over and towed me back to the breaks. SO--- finally I was back where the action was, and I had to think fast, because now the issue wasn't being dragged out to sea, the issue was the 6 foot Brazilian swells crashing on my head. I just sort of dodged tubes for a while and stayed afloat. Got whacked by walls of white water but it wasn't too scary. I was pleased with my ability to duck dive and get thrown around by waves. I thought that would be the worst part but it was kinda fun. The worst part was the realization that I couldn't even paddle. Therefore, as a New Yorker who is only in the surf a few minutes out of the year, I wouldn't be able to really do anything out there.

But it was fun and I was glad I tried it.

I ended up making my way to the beach and drinking an ice cold Skol. Life was good!

yeah sales dude you gotta be carreful out there. seems like the undertow got ya. sounds like you were on a short board too. i don't short board. i am a longboarder. i luv it. nothing like getting out towards the nose of that board. plus sharks prefer to bite shortboarders they look like turtles and sea lions so they are often mistaken for dinner. longboarders are too big to eat. i saw a big one the other night. i ride a 10 board and this baby was bigger. probably a 12ft tiger. scary actually seeing one let me tell ya.

below is a picture a friend took while on a shark dive trip. it is a 16ft, 2000lb tiger shark. right before that shot was taken it tried to take his camera, he had a tug of war with it until she decided to let him keep his camera and his limbs. there is chum in the boxes you see the other divers holding. if there was not chum they would be the chum. he is one of the few people who will travel great distances to swim with big sharks.

Ya, Hawai'i has the Tiger sharks, thats for damn sure! I was At Makapu'u
about 8 years ago, only one in the cove. Everyone was on the beach after a radio report said they spotted a Tigershark in the cove. I was stuck on the outside too but I had a boogie board and fins so I got back to the take off spot..... Luckly I didn't know what was going down until I got back to the beach. I was confused, looking at everyone on the shore. It was awesome having the break all to myself!

I am a longboarder myself. THere is nothing like riding the nose, and doing that groovy walk back and forth.... or standing on your head!!!!!
Just don't do any headstand stunts surfing reefbreak...hehehe

So, Did they clean up the beaches well? I heard they reopened not too long ago after the sewage spill. Pretty shitty think for Oahu.
