Some Arrangement & Clip View Suggestions:
- An option to have the track controls & meters in the Arrange View anchored on the left instead of the right. An option for wider meters would be nice too.
- When using a fixed grid for the Arrange & Clip Views, have an option to view whole numbers only in the Ruler. Could probably have the same option for the adaptive grid too.
- When zooming in, incorporate 3 pixel vertical grid lines along with the 2 pixel, and 1 pixel grid lines. For example, with a 4/4 signature, whole numbers would be 3 pixels, 1/4 divisions would be 2 pixels, and 1/16 divisions would be 1 pixel. When zooming out, at some point the 3 pixel grid lines would not be used.
- An option for the vertical 1 pixel grid lines to be dashed, or dotted, instead of solid (Arrange & Clip Views).

Improvements to the implementation of encoder banks as used by automatically mapped devices like the APC40 and for those of us who use custom remote scripts.
1-EQ8 needs to be remapped so bank 1 is all the parameters for eq band 1 and so o, rather than splitting eq 1's para, eters across 8 different banks
2-all the devices that don't have all parameters mapped should be completed. So far I've found the flanger & gate don't work.
3-The 'best of' bank (no.

doesn't work, or at least not on my controllers...
I've started a thread about this, so if anyone would like to suggest ideas for encoder bank improvements, please add them here:

+1 on those. all of them infact.
i'll add another one:
the ability to have an autoexpand track feature on the selected track in arrangement view, while contracted the not selected tracks. the way you ahve to do it now is just stupid, and the more tracks you have, the mroe stupid and annoying it gets.
also: the ability to actually contract a group track in the arrangement view into a single tracklane. the mroe tracks you have in a group, the bigger the group gets in the arrangement view, even when it's folded.

Single note automation!
So able to put different effects on every different note....
I am not talking about drum rack and automating the different chains.
I am REALLY talking about the possibility of automating every single note (e.g. C2) differently!
- One way to do this is allowing a single-note-midi-input on an audio-track.

what's the difference then ?
what's wrong wit envelopes and rack-chain-choosers..?

the difference is groovemachines....
Cannot throw a groovemachine in a chain and then automate only for example the snare....whilst still playing the other notes un-automated.

wait a minute..I think you've got the concept of audio vs. midi wrong...
different fx for different notes/audio streams is perfectly doable in Live already..

don't own Stylusrmx but..
if I remember correctly..
a snare can be sent to a separate output..
then it's just a matter of grabbing it using an audio track ..or an ext. audio' device
and recording automation for the fx..
if you're talking about automating the actual instrument..
then I do believe styrmx to have extensive 'MIDI learn' scheme..
and midi clips do record MIDI...even in session view..
ultimately I'd suggest you read the manual..both
a lot of feature requests I see here on the forum..
are already available in live in some form

3dot....
I know what you mean.
What you said is possible with those machines (like superior drummer) that actually have an output per sample.
However loading a groove in some machines (like Stylus in multi-mode) do not have an output per sample, so yes, in that case I would like automation per note in Ableton.
It would only contribute something right? Nothing bad for anyone about that....

I see..
so you're talking about 'sliced grooves'..
in which the 'snare' is already "mixed in" the track..
in this case..
if a certain 'slice' contains a 'snare' on it's own it can be fxed..
in any case it's a limitation of the plugin rather than Live...
but you're right.... +1 that it wouldn't hurt anyone
(btw I'm still pretty convinced this can be done..I used to have RMX waaay back)

Sure, it would be great for plugins to have that feature but on the other hand if one can automate any note in the host, this would be a great addition
(in kit-mode of StylusRMX one can route the samples to an output, but not in multi-mode alas....)

I don't know if this was put in the 26 pages of request. But switching thru the banks of 16 on the drum rack w/ a midi controller would be fantastic!
