Re: The iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch Resource Thread
I agree, that does look very cool.
I hate to say it, but what happens when Apple arbitrarily changes one tiny detail in the form factor, or perhaps the connectivity of future ipad models - as we know they often do. Think of all the discount 3rd gen ipod accessories floating in the remainder bins...
But that is a very cool product!

Control (OSC + MIDI): An interface application (a la TouchOSC and Mrmr) with scripting capability (javascript)

I think this app represents a very significant milestone for iOS especially for music folks. And while Lemur is already dead, this really is the final nail in its coffin.

TouchOSC editor for Waldorf Pulse+

MATRIXSYNTH: The iPad is a Game Changer for Editing and Controlling All Synths

This should work with the Pulse as well. The editor is mapped for The Missing Link (wifimidi.com) wireless TouchOSC to MIDI device. No PC/Mac is used. Communication is as follows:
iPad ---(wireless)---> The Missing Link ---(MIDI cable)---> Pulse+

I dunno, man. That's such a serious amount of coin. And I just don't have a huge synth need. Kinda like how you feel about the iPad, I suppose.

Re: The iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch Resource Thread
Hi everyone,
I've been reading around these forums a bunch and have actually gotten LiveControl to work with Live. However, every once in awhile I run into a couple network issues (I'm on a campus network) and thus I sometimes can't get Live to sync up correctly with the iOS interface. I enjoy using LIveControl, but I feel that I would much rather prefer a wired connection (iPhone/iPad to Live through USB) to prevent these network issues. Does anyone know which "control surface" iOS applications work WELL via USB cable?
Thanks!

Questions are how well will that work when you are using Omnisphere in a DAW and with all that stacking how far can you go before it chews on the CPU and crashes the DAW?
I love me some Omnisphere but it gets to the point where you almost have to get a second computer to run nothing but Omnisphere.

Re: The iPad/iPhone/iPod Touch Resource Thread
It's like using any regular VST synth in racks or us in Kore. Think of each of the 8 parts as a single instance VST synth. Depending on the polyphony of the patch, the cpu tends to be in the 5-15% range on the cpu meter (c2d 2.8 ghz mbp) for me. So it's not terribly inefficient on processor, it's fairly average for VST synths. Now of course if you want to layer 8 on one track, you'll find it requires that much more cpu to run them all at once.beats me wrote:
