Some tool manages to break into an iPhone and view shit? And that's shocking news? lol. Shit, people have done that over and over since Day 1.

I can just imagine Apple's response when this Tard contacts them: "hey, another douche has managed to view the playlists from an iPhone in his possession.

Bottom line, these things don't provide NORAD level security. More importantly, anyone who loses an Apple device has no sense of their inherent importance, no appreciation for art, and therefore has no business owning one.

Aren't there like multiple apps that allow you to wipe the devices contents if stolen?
Or lock it and give you its last known location where it was used.

I'm using this: http://www.orbicule.com/undercover/

i know you're dreaming about cherry pickers, but et tu LSZ? :|

Apple knows... and can't fix it yet.
If having your password displayed in plain text doesn't bother you then meh. *shrugs* but I know that half the fucktards in the world will blindly type their info into anything and click save so they don't have to type it again. Personally I think when it comes to certain shit thats just stupid, but this isn't about me. The other problem with this is that some folks use the same 2 or 3 passwords for everything. Since using an iPhone as an entire life organizer seems to be acceptable to certain strains of people, well I'd say that the odds of that I phone you find at the bar (even prototypes eh?) could have more than enough info to bring home a payload for folks with less than questionable ethics is pretty high.

The info is there. Its easy to get. Its easy to do. Don't loose your phone dude. Oh and... don't be so quick to give away your old one or sell it on ebay

if its on... the hack from the link and email i posted didn't even require the phone to be on.

Things like that never worried me.
People are so eager to rub findings like that in the faces of users of said products.
You're more likely to run into somebody making a big deal about an exploit than to actually be victimized. Case in point, the comment you posted can be found in almost every iphone/ipad/ipod comment section on almost any site.
I'll bet there's even an app that gives push notifications about things like that.
Its something I wish would get thru to 3phase and the likes, make a big stink about a bug by posting details that can be verified by any reader. That'll get it fixed

As for the thing being on to detect it if stolen. They gotta turn it on at some point. Even if its just to wipe the contents, to jailbreak it or whatever. Its not foolproof but thieves aren't always geniuses. And even if they manage to wipe it without revealing a location, the MAC address could possibly still be tracked.

if i stole your phone and gleaned all the info off that i needed to rob you blind, i'm pretty sure you could track the phone to the nearest dumpster. i'm no thief, but it seems like the money bag isn't near as important as the money.

even though some people *cough LSZ* worship these products, I hardly think the police will seal off the perimeter when its ravaged body is found.

Thats the beauty of these products, they usually cost more than all our other possessions.
Not sure what kind of info people keep on their phones, but if you store a password on an object of which you've lost several in the past, you're probably a dumbass.

Even my wallet won't tell you much more than my name and everything in it can be blocked with one call. And even more beauty to it all, if they try to get the info by actually using the device, you can track em down.

In the end this isn't a who is wrong or right kinda thing. All I know is that being cautious doesn't have to be synonymous to being paranoid.

Dairy products should have no business being around your parts, especially cheese.
At the very least you might get some horrible hard to get rid of odor. Or, worse yet, a nasty yeast infection.
Don't say i didn't warn you....

Listen, you're about 1000x more likely to have important data/info/etc stolen from your garbage than you are from losing an iPhone. Or Droid. Or ________________.

At least there's some semblance of protection on your mobile device. I mean, nobody puts padlocks on their garbage cans. But they fucking well should. Have you seen the stats for identity theft via your garbage?

8O

And yeah, if your a big enough tard to put anything of value on your phone, you deserve to be taken to the fucking cleaners.
