You gotta get Mu…
…and Max for Live.

I noticed that.
And I have to say that the Lemur for iPad promo video has to be one of the worst. I should be able to share it with any random person and they’d go “holy shit!”. Instead it’s a blur of name dropping and vague template usage that would probably only impress those who are already aware of the Lemur. It’s as if they made it under the time and cost restrictions of broadcast TV where time is money literally.

Hmm, I would say the quality is on par. Handbrake just has a ton more options, and you can kick the quality up to ridiculous levels.

Can't say as I've ever even messed with the prefs in iVI. I just select HD for my rips and away we go.. Not sure if you can increase quality or not.

Overall that was a pretty unhelpful post.
I can only say that iVI is great quality in HD, and saves you a boatload of time in naming shit and finding art.

I don’t fart around too much with the settings in handbrake. I just set the file size to 400MB per hour of movie and it’s been good enough for my full wall projection and 55” HD TV. The only time it shows some pixilation is during really dark scenes with shades or cloud shit, but I’m not going to clog up my drive with 4GB average movie files just for better dark scenes.
What iVI has over handbrake is auto tagging based on file name and automatically tossing the finished file into iTunes.

Thanks guys. Normally I just select the Apple TV 2 setting in Handbrake, but it would be nice having iVI just check them in iTunes for me afterwards.

Just bought the Ace Budget 2 app for a buck which is univseral. I've been cutting it too close to the wire lately when it gets close to payday and I'd like to see where my money's going. It's got the usual pie chart thing and you can pre-enter your monthly income so it starts subtracting money as you enter expenses. You can also set budgets for individual categories and it will display how much you've spent towards those as expenses get entered.
It's extremely rare that I actually pull cash out of the bank so just using my bank's online statement will make it extremely easy to make entries.
I need to make sure at least 50% of my income is going to Apple every month.

In short iPad competitors are fucked. They have to prematurely drop half-assed conceptualized tablets on the market to at least get started hoofing it against the 8,000 mile lead Apple has on them and by the time they raise their half-assed product to a three quarter-assed product through software updates Apple kicks them in the nut sack again with another near flawless next gen release and it's blindingly gorgeous iOS.
At least that's how I read it.
In other news some manufactures are just smartly giving up the tablet wars

But are banking on their version of the Macbook Air.
This is why I don't need to follow sports. Home town heroes Apple provides all the virtual bloodbath I can handle.

you know if imageline had of made fruityloops for android those $200 tablets would have been flying off the shelf like frisbies
so I tried to buy an ipad 2 off of someone on craigslist, the 64gig 3g for $300, only problem is they just happen to be trying to sell it while they're on 16 months vaction in canada, but they're advert is on LAs craigslist.
I told them fuck it I'll just send you the money and you don't need to worry about getting me the ipad in a hurry, maybe when you get back from vacation

ABOUT TIME!
But when I went to buy the app last night my iPad was stuck in some kind of multi-app update process while simultaneously trying to airsync with my iMac.
I went into the settings app on my iPad in attempt to disable airsync because it’s been nothing but a headache, but the only reference I could find for it was a sync now button.
TIM COOK, I AM VERY DISPLEASED WITH YOU RIGHT NOW. VERY.

The thought just struck me: should I sell my iPad 1 and buy an iPad 2? I already bought the first iPad used with a 20% discount.
I'm afraid that once Xmas is over, the old iPad will be devaluated almost as much as the Greek economy.
