But more importantly, is there an audio spectrum analyzer (a pretty one!) for iPad? I was almost hooked on buying a hardware spectrum analyzer, but the cheapest thing I could find costs friggin $130. I'm not made of gold

Those of you only using iPad with touchOSC for ableton have you found any controllers that help compliment it?

Interesting bit in the Steve Jobs biography. When he was in high school he used to host parties where he would play music and set up a custom light show where he pointed lasers at his mirrored speaker cones to create a light show that would react to the music. A total Ableton nerd move, if you ask me. Hopefully Apple will consider this for the forward facing speakers of the iPad 3S.

In all likelihood Apple and/or the Jobs family will put the kibosh on the Jobs doll which is kind of upsetting but I don’t know what the licensing laws are in regards to making a product in somebody’s image. Given the Apple fanboys, the manufacturer stands to make some serious loot.

Stern was talking about it on his show today, saying something to the effect that 'of course the Chinese invented this doll. They actually worship people that matter and are geniuses. We have superhero action figures and they create Einstein action figures.

If Stern is talking about it, and it doesn't get stopped from shipping (estimated shipping late Feb), and it's advertised as limited quantity the resale value is going to be HUGE. There's probably already bulk quantities being ordered. It's going to rival the monone (when it was relevant).

So Apple plucked an executive from Adobe to salvage their unsuccessful iAd division.

Here's what I hope he says on his first day:

"Here's the thing. People hate fucking advertisements. This whole concept and division is a disgrace to Apple's reputation and pedigree. What are we, fucking Google? And if a developer releases an app that they feel can't even justify charging somebody a dollar for and their sub par work should be subsidized by being a mobile billboard, they're a disgrace to the Apple app ecosystem. Fuck them. And fuck all you. Hope all your little iCrap kickstarter projects are funding well because I'm closing this bitch down by noon."
