So I just moved out of a roommate situation to a one-bedroom. My first time without roommates and am lovin' it! So here's the new set-up which takes up my living room entirely. Not a lot of space, but it works.

As you can see I'm using tall speakers as speaker stands for my monitors, which face the other way. It's great, I've got a two-directional thing going on.

One for the couch, one for mixing at the desk. There's also a bigger keyboard which slides out from the desk, hiding under the tablecloth.

hey adonis

does having speaks on concrete blocks help with the sound?

help cut down on traveling low freqs, say to the neighbors?

mine have a wood panel between them and the concrete, does that take away from the concretes help if there is any?

Adonis,

I love your monitor stands (: You may want to stuff some rags in them though.

Le shitty reverberous room- I need to get my sound panels put up, and actually get my studio in order, but i just got this room refinished for studio purposes, but I couldn't wait too much longer, so I grabbed a table and set up shop asap so I could work on some tunes... I got some nice adam monitors on the way, and need to bring in my real mixing desk... but until then:

i'm assuming you are talking about my speakers ;-) i've been wondering what to do with them for forever - but you make a good point. They are slightly elevated off the desk now to avoid transferring bass through the table...but I really do need to get a couple little stands for them or something better to decouple and raise them. Next time I'm across town at the music store I'll have to see what they have. Thanks for the tip and the comment.

As far as your setup...I've always wanted an SH101...gotta grab one of those one of these days.
