Just got myself a new laptop and these are the results. The onboard sound on this thing is utter shite and the latency is unbearable even with ASIO4All. I've got a Presonus Firebox but I can't get it to work with either the onboard firewire port or a PCMCIA adapter. I'll post results for it at some point when (if) I get it to work.

I get 98% using Live 5.0.3 - live 5.0.1 was used in the test above.

2) Fujitsu-Siemens Esprimo
3) Windows XP SP2 (tuned using tips from MusicXP.net)
4) Intel Dual Core 2.8GHz
5) 2,5GB DDR 533MHz
6) M-Audio Audiophile
7) ????rpm 240GB SATA
I had expected a better performance. Does anybody know when dual cpu's are going to be supported?

it might be that your bios settings are on default. try to set them to turbo or something like that.
in my case the centrino duo T2500 results in 20%.

Anyone want to hazzard a guess at how the mac book pro will score ? I was thinking I would hold out till mid year before getting one but think I am on the verge of caving in.

Not sure whats up with my computer. But I get the same % reading on 1.5ms all the way up to 12ms. Is this normal?

I bought second hand T42 IBM. I think Something is wrong:
1)CPU 74% (peak),
2) laptop
3) IBM t42
4) Centrino 1,6 GHz
5) 1 Gig ram
6)MME/Direct X, internal card
7)HD speed:5400
Is it the driver?

try Asio4All drivers.

I tried Asio4All:60%
With Rme driver and Hammerfall: 70%
I expected better performances...

Ok! I found a post on this forum (cpu saver), where somebody suggest the use of SpeedswitchXP, to force the best settings for maximum performance and cpu speed.

With the same driver, cpu is now 34%, what I expected.
I just hope this is not dangerous for the laptop. Since that change, fan is always running. I suppose everything is working harder.
