And...quite frankly...cool as the new product is from iConnectivity, it still falls well short of what should be available:
A high quality audio and MIDI i/o device on par with something like a Motu UltraLite - basically a replacement for the UltraLite that can also handle iOS flawlessly.

I could buy another iPad for the price of those interfaces.
What's wrong with a cable connector, and why can't Apple get their shit together and support USB MIDI like every other device on the planet?

This is the survival thought that should be on the tip of everybody’s mind at all times even before food, sleep, and shelter.

but God help me if I had to live another day without two iPads!

I'm glad that you don't know what you would need this for, becuase I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it as well. They're talking all iOS, and there's a big ole' honking ethernet jack on it. If it had built-in WiFi networking and a rechargeable battery, then I think I would get it, but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Okay, I'll play along. I'm a pro musician. I'm in my hotel room. I take out my iPad and my iConnectMUSE. Now what happens? I sure don't have a wired network to hook into in that hotel room, and even if I did, what would I do with it?

Just read the press release & I figure the idea with the ethernet jack is low-latency MIDI control ie Lemur & such?
I just love that image though. There's SO MUCH CONNECTIVITY I actually can't tell what's going on...
To be fair though, it appears what they are doing differently is *multiple* (I presume independent) stereo outs. Has anyone else done that? I don't know if there's even any apps at the moment that would take advantage of that other than that DJ app.
I have to say I thought we'd be seeing a lot more audio manufacturers touting their class compliant stuff for use with the CCK. Amirite in thinking with a powered hub + about €150 you can get most of this functionality?

Only 2 channels possible with the iPad regardless of the app. My guess? You can use the two inputs for either channel, or 1 input from your iPad and another from your 2nd iPad.

The Jobs action figure just got the axe.
I mean, if mutherfucking CHINA of all places can't produce a bootleg Jobs doll then WHAT THE FUCK GOOD ARE THEY?
And, more importantly, this demonstrates the ABSOLUTE POWER OF APPLE.
