This is probably not right. I have the same laptop and can only get 30% at 512 samples, using onboard sound with ASIO4ALL. Waiting for FW expresscard to try FW interface. Also, my desktop i7 @ 4Ghz runs at 17% (not sure but posted in this thread somewhere) and there's no way this laptop is faster than my desktop.

Agree - I have a 4Ghz i7 desktop machine with fast memory, fast HDs etc - and that manages 12% - perhaps the cpu meter was read when the test dropped to 4 tracks which would seem more reasonable for a 17% figure with that hardware.

Sorry lads, The test result I reported stands and has been duplicated at least 3 times.

Is the performance test not cutting it anymore maybe we need a live stress test?
I nearly bought a laptop based on rod underleaf and a couple of others test results but read conflicting info saying it was better to go for a high ghz dual core for maximum cpu headroom? so now confused and still looking

buffer setting at 512 samples? Also what kind of tweaks have you done for Windows? BTW, your post was the reason I got the laptop, and I must say that there must be something wrong with your result.

In the file "
http://nickstutorials.com/LivePerformanceTest.zip" there only "Live 6-7 performance test project.als. Is this what i´m doing wrong?
