What I'd love to see is MIDI-Mapping in Live's Preferences! Really, it would be awesome to be able to change the Buffer-Size per MIDI or the Zoom or something like that! Would be crazy, though...

A "save preset" button on instrument and effect racks.

A skin editor included.

A "time-swap" or similar function in arrangement view. For when you want to take a section of a project that is say for example, further down the timeline and swap it with an earlier section of the song.

+1 on this. For samples and presets, ideally with user definable categories.

- Dummy Parameter for the "configure" function with parameter-assignments
- to generate meaningful seperations between banks (like 5 controls for filter bank 1 / 6 controls for lof´s bank 2 and so on...)

- add a "configure" button on the top of the AU/VST wrapper. Its horrable workflow having to search for that button anytime you want to make a quick assignment.

- Mouse over function for all parameters
- like in so many plugins (reverberate comes to mind). Hover Mouse over parameter. Use scrollwheel to manipulate parameter. Use modifiers (scroll - rapid change / scroll+shift - detailed change)

- No midi thinning for sudden parameter changes.
when i map my keyboard onto a continouus parameter (like cutoff) i WANT to record the sudden changes. I HATE it that ableton wont recognize that i use the keyboard for parameter modulation and thins out my modulations.

1.Song tempo and song key info in live file browser so it becomes easier to build a progressive set
2.video file playback like clips in session view to do a video mix of songs with built in video fx

- Integration with Traktor like Serato!!!

- And warping in simpler/sampler it would be fantastic.

- Better midi clock sync.

To expand the BUG report 'feature' of Live 8.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. A software link to cause an electric shock to the Ableton design Team every time Live crashes on me. Then they too would feel my pain (and fix it very quickly)!

-I want to be able to draw in curved automation please - Should be able to create 3 points and use the middle point to make curves rather than just straight lines

-A latency delay plugin that works out the latency of your internal and external hardware for you and adjusts it accordingly or at least shows you so you can set it right.

-M4L Runtime and pluggo plugins included

-A page where you can mix with full screen with the eq plugin on top like a vst desk (think reason but better)

-Better autowarp so it actually detects the real beginning of your track

-INTEGRATED STEP SEQUENCER PLUGIN SO WE CAN USE LAUNCHPAD directly with the live grid and not have to get M4L for £210

- Improved sound quality of plugins

+1 for LFO assigned to anything. It would be good to have push buttons to select several different values.

no more squeaky filters on the sampler (they squeak and do strange things when modulated quickly)

timestretch in the sampler

macro curves

envelopes on unwarped clips

dj display options in session view (dual waves, wave + devices @ same time, etc)

complex pro should sound better

global macros + macro matrix (to enable things like midi lfo, + milti channel macro automation)

live makes unnecessary breakpoints when drawing automation

Max as a free part integrated into Live (as one product), with MSP and Jitter as add on products.
Rewrite the whole thing, that way the guys taking over for bitwig learn existing Live code inside out, and hopefully replace most of it. Make it pretty!! Maintain backward compability

Not sure what this is called (key follow maybe). I'd like Ableton (the application) to 'pick up the ball' wherever I start playback of a MIDI File. As I understand, if I have a single key press playing over eight bars in Live 8, I always have to begin playback at the initial note 'strike'. That means listening through 8, 16, 32 bars maybe before getting to the bit I actually want to hear. I know there is a way aound this limitation. Play from initial note strike (note on) and then 'jump' the play position ahead however many bars you want.

Not sure I've explained very well but there ya go.
