I was allowed to buy some new headphones because the cat chewed my old ones (god bless that animal, if he wasn't so damned cute he'd be in a shelter by now). My old phones were very nice Sony 7506s, yes they were 7 years old but still working awesome.
Anyway, I am on a tight budget given that we are facing impending financial ruin, but managed to pick up some Audio Technica ATH-M40fs for 75 dollars CDN in the mad Boxing day sale, so that was awesome - they are almost as good as the Sonys, really great deal that one.
sounds dodgy as hell, but if you really are on the brink you should fill up the credit cards with software - if you end up bankrupt they can't take it from you - especially if it is work related!
oh and, for XMas I upgraded to FM8 and Absynth 4 at long last!

just got a late Xmas present for myself.
Ive been lusting over an MPC1k, but the prices have gone insane in Oz in the last month so that was out for satisfying GAS
I was browsing at some clearance guitar stock and have come home with a brand spanking new Fender Highway 1 Telecaster at a sweet price.
cannot.stop.playing.this.thing.
why have i wasted my life on non Telecaster guitars?

I got a Korg nanoKONTROL, some really nice headphones, a 3 keyboard rack for my synths, an Akai mpd24, a behringer mixer (I dont remember exactly what model it was), and with my Christmas money Im getting a Behringer BCR2000, and some DJ speakers. A pretty damn hefty christmas.

Me and my wife treated ourselves to a wii, wii fit and a load of games
Most of christmas was spent playing on said wii and tiger woods golf.

they've been making those things for a while, apparently. Last year I semi-jokingly asked for a handmade one from her. She politely refused. Here's the (very easy) recipe:
