I can't remember which version of Live it was, but cross fader curves were introduced part way through the beta after an outcry from many DJs that Live's default curve was no good for them. That's probably a more significant change than most of the things mentioned here.
Obviously any new feature requires testing and could introduce bugs. And that's a potential issue (especially for those who don't require those features). But since Live is designed for different types of users, not just one specific user, that's always going to be how it is.

#5 gets a BIG vote from me!
Just had a look at chopping up tracks for DJ'ing - finally conceded that the only way Ableton are likely to implement this is with multiple clips... However, between this problem, and the lack of a follow action which triggers on the end marker, there just isn't an easy way to do this.
For all the extras which have been added to this latest release, I'm still really disappointed that they still haven't addressed some very simple tweaks which would make Live so much more fun/flexible to DJ with... Whilst, in some cases, there are workarounds, these require extra faff in the form of mousing around and/or preparation (maybe even to the extent that it's less easy to improvise your performance/track selection).
This seems like madness when you consider all the effort that has gone into producing a controller which facilitates this style of performance...

When you start a set nobody want to be staring at 60 empty tracks. Just not convenient.
With 8 you can put em in a group track and you don't even see them.
