Make sure also that in Live's preferences, that you have the correct sound card selected and that the sound card's inputs are actually turned on.

I don't have the J33 but I've got a couple of the radial direct boxes and they sound great and I don't think you are going to find anything with a more solid build.

sort of on-topic but off-topic at the same time...
Now that I've finally sold my CDJ setup, I think I'll be buying a cheap 2 turntable + 1 mixer setup to practice with traktor scratch/record the occasional "studio" mix/sample a few records if the mood strikes. I really don't NEED to splurge on a pair of 1200's and a flashy mixer this time around, since it'll just be a home practice setup (plus I want to save some dough for the APC40 + L8 upgrade), but I don't want to get something REALLY crappy either. I'll probably go for an in-between, like some Stantons or something along that line. I used to have a pair STR8-80's a few years ago and they ROCKED for their price.
Anyone here used some of the newer Stanton T models? Opinions? Hopefully they'll be just as dependable as their older ST/STR8 siblings.

Well i've been convinced by everyone and their cousin that i should get a pair of Technics SL's... PERIOD.
OK I guess... but in that case, I'm definitely looking for second hand.
I've seen pairs of SL1200 MK2's on craigslist ranging from 450 to 500 and change, but most of them look pretty banged up, or the posts are very vague and I'm just not getting any response from the sellers. Slightly shady.
I've got my eye on a pair of used SL1200 M3d's with dust covers and cartridges for $600 plus shipping, through ebay. They look impeccable on the pictures. Can't be very old. Is this a good deal? Sounds like it.
