Been listening to and loving Stars of the Lid for a while! Great recommendation.

Heh, Fennesz is strictly a Max/MSP guy when playing live. 8O

He uses the lloopp patch. You can check out this great article here:

http://createdigitalmusic.com/2008/06/1 ... rformance/

Since Max for Live has been announced, I've gotten more curious about lloopp. There's a link in that article, but you can check it out here:

http://lloopp.klingt.org/plone/lloopp

Check out the screen shots section. 8O It's like 50 control screens at NASA. 8O

One of the things I've read about lloopp is that it's easy to generate feedback loops that you can then manipulate and mangle.

I'm going to give this one more.... 8O
I came for the
But stayed for the :x

I saw him live 3 times. instense moments, though he has a weird way to end his shows (which I don't like, it's almost like "ok, enough for tonight, let's press stop"). But in a live context, his textures sounds awesome, really.
I DEEPLY recommand the "live in japan" from FENNESZ. it's a perfect mix between "Endless summer" and "Venice", my 2 favorite records of him. The encore is incredible (but, again, the end is messed).
Hey BOB, been listening to your tracks on MySpace. Excellent stuff. I really liked Nude and Freezing. It has this kind of Jah Wobble/Bill Laswell thing happening. Great.

I know that David Torn was using one for a while.
I've pluged my guitar into it a couple of times, but i haven't figured out a way
to fit it into the work flow in that capacity yet.
NMG2 was used mostly as a processor and router, although I did use it with an axon for a little while, for synth stuff.

oh, thank you very much !!
i'm happy that some people could like it, cause I had to do it in a very short time, and used just one monitor system... so I really messed the mix and the filtered voices, on some speakers (especially bad systems), sometimes sound awful (distortion on the passed-frequencies) in a way I didn't expect..
the thing I'm happy about, beside the switch to 5/4 bars (except one), is that I just used one bar of guitar, drums and choirs/synths, and part of the vocals to do the whole remix, on a totally blank page (no quantification on the sequencer, I wasn't using Live at that time, a bit like in the tape tradition).

thank you for the info too, I didn't realize Fennesz was using Max !

 gosh I am so far behind the times, I remember when sonic youth, the butthole surfers, the spaceman 3 and early monster magnet (tab 25) were considered "experimental" guitar music.......
