So don't be angry about Abletons
Thanks some - I'm not angry with Ableton in the least. Like I've said over and over ad naseum, I really like Ableton, love Live and think they're doing a great job on the whole. Just wish they would have taken the time to do one more beta before rushing it out the door for NAMM - that's all.
I'm looking forward to the next release with great anticipation.

I think some of you expect and cry a bit too much. Live 4 is ready for prime time..It may not be perfect but neither was 3.0. As for some VSTi's working this may be within the VSTI and Live..
One thing for sure Ableton are cool and they are always on our side to make things work the best they can..Not that many companies offer a beta approach like Ableton..they also break boundaries in software..
I can understand if one of your fav plugs is not woking as wanted, but I'm sure they will fix it ..It is summer and there coders need a break too.
Quit crying and start jammin!

Verne Andru, I don't think you're whining at all - i think "venting" is a more appropriate word, and I see you're not the only one: This thread is now four pages long!
I also don't think that this type of discussion should be taboo all of a sudden, just because some exec decided to ship the product
I sooo see your predicament: "Your" vsti is one of very few that don't work - and the release *was* rushed. Ouch
I agree though, let the thread die.......
Cya!

Here is my personal beef which I in no way intend to make personal with anyone, but just a statement.
The concept of internet forums have brought about the concept of users thinking they have more influence then they really do. I've seen numerous BBs for products where people think if they post of scathing statement and defend it furiously that they're going to succeed in getting their wishes. More than 90% of the time some feature or issue they're ranting about is already being worked on by the company regardless of the online presence of some fanatic. I think this gives users an inflated sense of the role they play A good comapny listens to their users, but trying to take advantage of that or THINKING you're taking advantage of that infuriates me to konw end.
In short: lets not make furious posts about things like this with broad sweeping statements like "Ableton impregnated me with alien babies by releasing this version which fails to support this unknown plug-in"
email the team, and realize it's not going to happen immediately. It's a little concept called reality.

Bernd wrote:Hi Verne Andru,
on monday I will take a look at it. You described it pretty well so I am confident that we will find it. Our plug-in interface developer left already a week ago for vacation. It must have been overssen while handing over. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Kind regards, Bernd.
Thanks Bernd

You, too? I'm so happy I'm not the only one eating for seven. Loading up on Sigourney Weaver's intergalactic carbohydrate diet is so tiring, and I have no idea how I'm going to put these little buggers through college, what with the constant software upgrade fees.
