They truly could produce more as evidenced by the demand and pricing, however, at what point does increased availability negatively impact that "cool/limited/exclusive/Iownoneandyoudon't factor" that surrounds the monome and this negatively impact sales?

But anyone who creates something this cool cannot possibly be so stupid as to not expect outrageous reselling crap to happen. Can they? Please tell me no one could be that stupid.

All you have to do is spend some time over at gizmodo.com or engadget.com - where some dude creates a step sequencer out of paper clips and bubble gum in a Tokyo office, and people go apeshit for it. TOTAL APESHIT. They start demanding tutorials and videos and want to know when it's going to be available. FFS.

People love step sequencers and can't get enough of them. Quiet and modest is cool when you've created something that nobody wants, lol.
