hi there.:

i also started another thread with issues
about gettin the clock of my evlover synced to live 8.05

when i look at the incoming bpm the evolver shows always something
like 124- 127 bpm when sending out from ableton with 126

what sometimes work sometimes
is a total mess as i have to hit
the stop button and start ableton again
to have the triggered sequence played tight to
my live set..

its a total pain i t a
because it makes live farely not much usable
for connecting external equipment over midi..

ableton 8 will NOT sync externally from any of my MIDI devices. . .

:(
i get quite a big lag when i try to sync my e;ectribe, even with my sample buffer as high as 40ms, its still behind the beat somewhere around 10 to 50 ms. not good i'm afraid.
Hi, nice to see another electriber here! ;-)

Yes, it's a shame that I can't get my electribes to synch reliably with ableton (there's drift)

electribes DO synch PERFECTLY with eachother, and with this harware multi-track recorder I use sometimes

I did one show where I would stop the ER-1 and then restart it at points in the set,
that helped get things on the laptop get connected again!
(actually a "stop start" is a great way to help ANY two devices synch again)

Lately, as I record things, I just shove over the "latency adjustment" on each track manually!

my greatest wish is for easier automatic latency compensation within the software somehow

someday, when computers have automatic AI based tempo synch as tight as an expert drummer, we will all laugh. ;-)

hi..

the midi implementation is over 2o years old ..
and not a too complicated protocol i guess..
its quite a shame that a sequencer nowa days
cannot send out a stable midi snyc to external gear

i worked before with ableton live 6.xx
as slave to my mpc.. worked fine
