why does the "credit crunch" have anything to do with switching dj style?

i would also like to make an announcement.

having played guitar for many years and not being effected by hemeroids i have decided to buy a new multi effect pedal.

having taken showers for many years and not been effected by heavy rain in asia, i have decided to take a candle lit bath.

Im thinking for a digital setup too :?
(searching for months now but is not possible to decide)

im afraid to go out and play with ableton because of the many crash reports.
also the interface for classic DJing is not the best like mentioned

i guess i have 2 options

1. VCI-300 / Serato itch (+ option for live with bridge when it comes out)

735 euros - no FX (serato) - single unit to carry

2. VCI-100 / Traktor LE + update to pro - Audio 2 DJ
610 euros - Many FX - Plus a very small unit to carry

what do you suggest??

Torq could also bean option?

i would go traktor, not because it's the cheaper bundle, but simply because i think it's better and it defo has more to offer.

also you can later use any audio card with it... (one major difference, the rane interfaces are not that great at all)

the X1 controller is also awesome, well that one you can use with serato as well, but from what i know / have seen, traktor has a much much stronger midi side... and the capabilities to mix and match midi with control vinyl/CD control, makes it utterly customisable.

do you have maschine? if yes then it's a no brainer... the integration of maschine as a controller in traktor is just plain ace.

then there is the GUI, which is a matter of taste but i found it extremely important for a stage performing tool, easy visual identity / accessibility is a major key to me in a usual dark space...

the bridge, i seriously believe is still miles away when it actually ever comes out proper working, the way most people expect it to work. (function wise)
well, we will see, but it's over half a year now since the announcement and nothing happened yet...

i mean i admit that serato 2.0 which i have seen only once yet... looks promising, well it is the first attempt to catch up with traktor.
