if I seem irked it's only because this forum has too much electronic and DJ music, it's refreshing to discuss real music.
what do you think of this?

Primus, for example never chugga chuggas, Larry LaLonde hates that kind of playing.
Def Leppard, for example, is not a metal band, they're a rock band. no chugga chugga.
larry lalonde used to be in the death metal band possesed.....before primus.

I did not know that. there ya go. I saw him in an interview where he said he despised pentatonics and cookie cutter cliched music, so I assumed he shyed away from chugga chugga. dunno if there's a Primus tune where he does that.

ThrowAway - we need video of you singing the D at karoake. my faith in humanity and metal is restored. you know how it is, too many people really don't get it with metal.

that chart reminded me of some bands I havent thought of in a long time...sepultura, coalchamber and type o negitive. also its why I hate that their are so many sub genres for many of the main genres I like.

dunno if I'm hearing any chugga chugga. I mean palm muted power chords, right?
I got to see Primus in a small club the day Sailing the Seas Of Cheese came out. one of the best concerts ever. seen 'em many many times including the show that ended up as Videoplasty, another great show. they play a lot up where aisling is, I suspect he has a few stories.
years ago, a friend was in a bike race, then he hears this guy go "tee heee heee dawg will hunt" and he broke from the pack. hilarious.

mr krinkle!!
i wish i could say i started playing bass because of les but it was because of the lack of bass player. i didn't like the way other guitar players played bass because they didn't really want to play bass. so i started doing it and i fell in love

totally, and like we've shown here, some guys are really into metal but really hate parts of it, like Dokken.
have you seen the movie The Decline Of Western Civilization? it was that movie that made me dig up some of the 80s bands and give them another try.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7UG2Igh ... re=related <-- famous interview, scary.
