didn't like Beastie Boys at first. now i would eat their shit.

I thought the Beasties were mainly a joke and blew off their first album, and then Paul's Boutique came out and ruled my world for quite some time.

A couple other acts that I thought I hated during their prime were the Cure, and later Portishead. I've loosened up my rockness a lot since then.

I also remember seeing an Aphex Twin video on 120 Minutes back in the day, thinking it was like Enya shit (I think it was this video...the song does sound a bit like a Dianetics commercial), and proceeding to ignore RDJ for oh, 15 years.

It came to me on the way to the beach yesterday... The Love Movement by A Tribe Called Quest. The only thing that kept me from hating that album when I first heard it, was loving A Tribe Called Quest.
