I mean, I'm gonna buy it and all, I'm just curious.

Maybe you should change your philosophy?? :P

Actually I bet this is just a great way to get more publicity and by buying into this, there's a discounted upgrade path to one of their bundles.

They did something similar by offering the cutdown version of Breverb, with a discount to the full version (if purchased within a month) and then again with Antares' Mutator for $10, and then offering an upgrade path to Antares' vocal bundle.

So, if this is turning out to be successful for these companies, maybe we can look forward to more deals later???? I'm hoping and I bet you audiomidi.com is hoping too, since this has to be good publicity for them as well.

I bought most of my software at "ridiculous" deals. I think it's a matter of timing and market conditions and the offer at hand.

To give you some examples:
Z3ta - $40
Camelphat - $30
Battery - $75
Guitar Rig 3 - $112
Voxengo Elephant - $25
Voxengo Vintage Modulator - $10

the list goes on.

Nitro, IMHO, is one of the most under-rated plugs out there. The filters on it are the best I've heard in software - right up there if not better than Fabfilter. But the difference is that Nitro can be programmed like an FM synth with feedback loops and cross-modulations. This plug is a BEAST. For $10, I wouldn't ask a lot of questions - I'd just buy buy buy!

Elephant 2. Haven't upped to E3 yet, but will do soon. That plug rocks.

Thank you for not making me kick myself repeatedly for missing it...

I've been anxious to pick up Elephant 3 for a good while now. It's gone for $55 at the KVR marketplace, but I think my next purchase will be one of the IK T-Racks singles, since they have their massive Group Buy going. I like the Limiter in that collection very much, but probably not more than Elephant 3, although I haven't tried Elephant 3 since it came out.

^ Nice deal. Unfortunately, as a E2 owner, I can get it for just a bit more, and it won't NFR.

Yeah, that NFR bit holds me off too... Maybe Voxengo will do some insane deal next? Either way, I wouldn't mind spending full price from a developer like Voxengo... good stuff at decent prices.

Might as well post this too...

I haven't bought this, so can't speak of it's content, but anyone looking to get more out of Nitro, here's a link to a $10 preset bank with 64 more presets:
