Okay guys N girls,

first off i wanna appologize for my rude tone, but this whole apple buys this, apple wants that thing got my mind a bit confuesd at the moment.

Thing is, I ,as a PC user at Home (I work on MAC's at work) didn't come across a mac that runs as smooth and as stable (!) as a well tweaked "WINBLOWS" system. Not ot comment the price. I mean, just look around in the forum and you'll see plenty of users pissed with their MAC performance. I think paying double price for a half-ass-bad system just doesn't make the point.

But when this stuff is really gonna work (in one to two years or so), i do think y'all MACies will be smiling over the remaining pieces of audio-apps for WIN, and a new battle between the worlds will start.

I understand where you are coming from. Both Mac's and PC's as they stand today still Suck...But.. I really believe OS X is going to change this. .. Microsoft is focused on many things... Apple is focussed on the creative market which is too small for Microsoft to put as much attention on. Having a coming like Apple focus on us creative people from their hardware to their OS to their Apps and 3rd parties is going to make a system that will have me spending more of my time creating and less tinkering...Programs like Live to me are the future... pure creativity without ever having to pause...I can't wait till video and compositing and 3d get's to be as fluid as this...Imagine being able to perform live with all these kind of tools.

Don't stress yourself out right now. Apple still has not made a full transition to OS X (quark and music apps being the lagards) but that will change in the upcoming months...and in 2003 we shall finally get rid of Motorolla which has been a thorn in Apple ass. With OS X Apple has options to use future IBM Powerpc based chips as well as AMD hammer chips...

Also Apple has the ability to accelate plug-ins from the operating system down to hardware (dsp + altivec) perhaps letting developers write effects and synths while Apple will have audio units make calls to onboard dsp acceleration and atlivec optimizations...

So for all the PC peeps keep your pc's you have Logic 5.2 which just came out and should keep you happy for the next 6 months or more...then when you are ready to upgrade your pc have another look at Apple then (2003 and beyond) many things can change between now and then...

this might be funny when the real music computer will come back and kick all other stuff out.They had their chance..

sounds funny...but who knows??A Coldfire CPU could be the right decision for music in the future.
And it is not sooooo hard to porting software from one OS to the other one.

Maybe YOU are the one who will need to port Live into the Atari,cause Steinberg and emagic will rule the other markets.

by the way...what is your point??..you´re talking about i loops and video mixing.
but there are many users who don´t like the fruity maschines.
And the big problem for companies might be that emagic will rule the mac market.
It´s okk for users,but not for companies.

the way for the most companies might be:"be apples friend or go out".
