Since going through all the betas it's been over 12 times now that I've had to sit and wait and watch the installer install Analog, Collision, Electric, Tension, and then first thing I do when it's finished is go to uninstall them again. It's not a massive problem, just an annoying little thing that I constantly associate with beta testing... A more efficient install of only the instruments I have actually purchased might encourage more people to use the betas...

Please consider this for 8.0.6b1/8.1b1  - thanks.

...and... it's fixed in 8.0.8! Thank you so much for this! Appreciated! :)

hallelujah.

this has been my single greatest gripe with live 8 and the updates. increased download times, library bloat, cluttered browser, insanely long installation and library error checking... i was cursing the very existence of anything "suite."

thanks guys.

Hm, second thoughts on the speed of installation.

Thought I'd have a look at the updated lessons yesterday, and some of the sets no longer matched. Did a Library repair which took a few minutes (and foolishly set it to check Packs too - took forever). New sets are there but still missing at least one sample from the Lessons (DJ/warping practice).

8.0.8 still has some looper anomalies where it often doesnt record the beginning of a loop properly yet adding a note (the one missing at the beginning) after you have stopped the loop strangely fixes the issue.

or triggers out of sync or changes the rhythm of what you played in.

Its driving me insane, just as I get excited by what I am doing one of these things usually occurs

ANYONE ELSE HAVING SUCH PROPLEMS?

or am I just the lucky 'one'

Yeah ummm, 8.0.8 has actually worked for someone? I thought the download was corrupted, will not down load on either of my 2 brand new computers or my older laptop. Any ideas?

Currently I'm using 8.0.4.
So my Suite (boxed) library is updated to 8.0.4.
I have downloaded the suggested download (Live 8.0.8 full)
Should I download and install the suite version?
I'm afraid I'm going to have some library corruption
because I jumped 8.0.5 completely.

Any clue?

Why would your library get corrupted? Its not like Ableton invented a new file format that replaces the current one. If a preset gets overwritten it means the sound designer in question fixed something he deemed a mistake. Not saying that is still happening but its the only logical reason why a file would be different.

Don't worry mate ! I don't think there have been any library updates since 8.0.4

Sorry I used the wrong term here:
'Corrupted' meant I did not upgrade to 8.0.5 so presets were not upgraded as well
and I could experience dependency hell if new preset in 8.0.8 relies on a 8.0.5
preset while my library has 8.0.4 version.
If none of this could happen.. better.
I remember something like this happening in 7.x Session Drums updates.

Pasha,
Im on the same page as you. I am running 8 Live Suite on two different computers. My desktop has 8.0.4 and my laptop is the original 8 suite. Is it safe to upgrade both of these versions to 8.0.8? anyone? I believe this would make both Pasha myself and a few others happier with the update. Additionally, given my circumstances with have two different versions of live 8 suite it will answer many questions. Thanks

You don't need to install every update. The latest version will always contain what you need.
