Is there any chance I'll be able to get the 20% discount ALONG with the Educational Discount?

So 20% off of 269 USD?

I should probably just e-mail Abes.

as a casual user (and broke ass grad student) i was waiting for this. now i can afford to get m4l as well ~: D thanks ableton! the boatload of free packs to dl is super nice too.
Don't bother me with pieces of wisdom... !
In my opinion their behavior is a very good example of an "outstanding customer-accommodating attitude". And if they drop prices after I had a lot of fights (as an involuntary "beta tester") with the "teething problems" of Live 8 I feel like taken for a ride. And they need those customers who don't wait for special discounts because those customers are responsible for cost recovery and debugging during the development process. Sorry, but this is the bad feeling that sets in if someone treat me like this... Nothing more and nothing less!

After waiting for many months I upgraded from live 7 to Live 8 suite October 30rd. Yesterday I mailed Ableton about my disappointment missing the 20% reduction. Today I received a coupon worth 50 euro/dollar. Very good service from Ableton. One happy user here! :P

Nice to hear... :D Maybe we should start a petition:

Don't count on it.

I tried ordering it on two different cards and it keeps telling me my financial institution is denying the payment. WTF?

Or you could test it thoroughly before bringing it onstage...

Just a thought...

... and they tested happily ever after (if they don't had to go to a gig or they died... whichever occurs first).

Thank you for mentioning this, I think I will finally upgrade now. I used be impulsive with upgrade mania, in every aspect of my life. Now days, I attempt to focus on qualitative vs quantitative aspects of my life. Live 7 simply works for me, and I felt no need to upgrade, even though the looper was enticing. The new price seems a little more realistic to take the plunge.

I like the pic of your studio, looks like a nice place to produce, many thoughts for continued creativity and inspiration.

It's all good, like I said, I was there hard for many years, then one day I realized that I am actually pretty creative, inspired and productive, and no amount of gear or technology was going to replace my psychology.....

Some of the artist's who have inspired me the most are alway many versions behind the latest, as there is no real reason to fix something that is not broken.

It happens. Buck up and stop whining about it.

Also, I wonder what those who bitch would have companies do? Not give discounts at all? Only call you up personally to see if you're ready to upgrade before they initiate the discount? Throw darts at a map to decide discount dates by region? Create some starting and ending date scheme for the discount that bends and changes over time according to some randomizer algorithm?
Most stores will give you the difference if it goes on sale within thirty days of purchase.

Now THAT is ridiculous. All computers have different pieces of hardware put together and Ableton can't be accountable for whatever hardware you have in your system.

If every single computer was the same, then maybe. But that isn't the case.
