finally, for price reasons, availability reasons etc, only 2 remain here:
- HP Pavilion dv7-3080ef
- Asus M60J-JX041V

same i7 1,6Ghz processor
same 4Go RAM not expandable (but HP can be extended to 8Go... hum..)
HP screen is 17,3" vs Asus which is 16"
Asus is provided with 640Go HD, HP with 500Go
Graphic card are nVidia® GeForce™ GT 230M or nVidia® GeForce™ GT 240M ... pretty much the same!
...etc etc etc etc

so, I guess performances would be VERY similar

I am also verry interested in the HP Pavilion DV8-1180ed but I just discovered in annother forum that the fan produces tremendous noise even with low load.

it isn't the quietest laptop I had... but it is very reasonable.
if sometimes you clean up the holes where the air goes, it is ok!
