Yeah, Reaktor is incredible ... I've had it for a few years, and honestly the only safe way I can use it is tweaking presets. I spend little enough time using what gear I have left, I can't be sucked further into that Vortex...

(I did send everyone I knew the special deal last weekend... I ended up grabbing Massive... what a cpu hog. :) Some nice, nice pads out of the box though.)

Another tip is if you have Kore Player and the free Compilation 1 Kore pack, you have the Photone ensemble synth from Electronic Intruments 2 on your computer.
Wow, crazy that they gave that away! (under the radar). Photone is probably my favorite reator synth. That and Carbon2.

and +1 Lurker FTW!

Are all these instruments freely available to anyone who owns Reaktor?
I made a post asking over at kvr for anybody wanting to part with it, and just got a pm!

I recently downloaded" Vintage Synth ens"from the user library , it has a Jupiter 8, MiniMoog, Prophet 5, and a SH 101.
They all sound pretty good,I especially like the mini moog though it has a few bugs (unless it is intentional?) And the guy did a real nice job on the GUI of all of the synths.
Recommended!

I have the Kore player installed but can't seen to find Photone on my system, did you mean that I should be able to open it in Reaktor? If so where does that turn up?

*Edit* Found your KVR post, buried in the Common folder! Thanks, found it.

If the black hole of Reaktor itself doesn't absorb you, the black hole of the community library is the secondary source of your destruction. It's enjoyable, though.

I must say now that I'm getting into Reaktor Live is crashing a lot more but I'm having a lot more fun....tradeoffs....

There's even a decent piano in the user library "sa_Piano_v3", I love the "claptomat" for claps and finger snaps...and the "Solina-V String Ensemble" is gorgeous. So crashes be damned.

I find reaktor to be almost unusable in ableton.

Hmm, perhaps time for an update check. . .

Classic case is that I put it into a track, save the track, crashes, try to re-open and I can't open cos of the Reaktor vsti / fx. . .

It really is worth getting Electronic Instruments 2 ... my fave is Metaphysical Function which you can just launch and leave playing in the background for spacious ambient goodness. Spiral is pretty cool too.

yup,same here.
Reaktor 5/Electronic Instruments 2 are awesome.without metaphysical function, half of my music wouldn't even exist.Photone is really good as well.
Absynth 5 and Alchemy fill the other half.

all inside Ableton of course......

it's funny though,i NEVER had Reaktor 5 crashing Live.to me it's one of the most stable plugins from N.I.
can't say the same about Absynth 5 though......using sync granular/granular modes is like forcing Live to crash 80% of the time.......
(crashes a lot less in standalone mode)

Use the VST version of Reaktor instead of the AU. The AU version and Live have issues.
