Three big ones were... Stylus RMX Xpand, TRacks3 deluxe, and last but not least... Komplete 5! I had to upgrade my HDD to accomodate all the extra shtuff.

Cubase 5 upgrade - it added lots of features I wanted (some of which are not available in Live such as Variaudio and the excellent Reverence convolution reverb ) and the upgrade from 2 generations back of Cubase was not only $79 dollars cheaper than upgrading 1 generation (Live 7 Suite to Live 8 Suite), it also took my status from educational to full retail (Ableton only consider you as full retail after THREE upgrades from an educational license).

Sonalksis MultiLimit and later, the DQ-1 dynamic equalizer which cost me $49 instead of $249 after 70% off regular price and a further 50% off with educational discount.

All done before I was laid off and broke. Now just watch the local shops have amazing blow out deals on Boxing Day and I don't have money to buy bread and milk :( Bugger !

Two things. My ice cream making machine and pasta making machine. Homemade is the way to go.

Dell 2209WA - Really great monitor for the price. Convinced me that I'll never need to buy an over priced Apple Cinema Display again.

Now all you need to do is get off the rest of over priced Apple crap and you'll be peachy

Let me translate that to American for you:

I would second the Microwave XT and Alchemy posts, I own and love both. Although I would choose the hardware over the software, sorry Camel.

Alchemy I bought this year, but I can't call it my best purchase. It comes a very close second to my RME Multiface 2. Worth every penny. :)
