I don't know if will work, but you can try... Maybe need some changes in the patch but works with other patches....

1 - Download Novation´s M4L step sequencer patch
2 - Download free Max runtime for free
3 - Open the novation´s patch in a text editor
4 - Remove the first line, before the "{"
5 - Save the file
6 - Rename the file to ".maxpat"
7 - Open Max
8 - Load the Patch
