mmm - could be construed as bigoted but as an ex-developer I know where ur coming from.
Used to work for the IT department of a nice wee bank but it merged with an evil Yorkshire empire and collapsed. Escaped after takeover by another evil empire. Phew.
Now I'm 'between jobs' but at my age likely to settle for making music and looonnng bike rides. I'm not complaining

An English conversationalist. I guess that means an English teacher but in Japan, you don't necessarily teach English. I teach people how to have a conversation, sometimes grammar and shit. Mostly conversation.
It has it's ups and downs. I can choose my schedule and I meet some interesting people. Ridiculously boring people too.
Me: So what are your hobbies?
Student: Watching TV and sleeping.
Me: Oh.......uh........

In my first year of college. Doing music production.
Used to work in a call centre part time but we were all made redundant (dont you dare say "sorry to hear that" as the redundancy bought me a pair of cdjs).
I do freelance sound effects and background music for a software company who make flash games for health organisations and stuff like that. Its pretty good pay aswell.. its just not steady.

I'm a journeyman electrician. Not sure how long I'll be able to continue in this field due to degenerative disk disease. I was 2 years into the apprentice program, went to a local luthier who was willing to teach, gave him the money, but backed out because the wife thought it wouldn't be reliable income.
We had quite a few go-arounds... she won.
Would have been finished with luthier a few years ago, looks like I might have to give it another go. Wouldn't mind teaching music privately but fear I need an official sheepskin, kicked the Berklee idea around.

I do in-residence mental health counseling with the chronically mentally ill. Just part-time, as I'm in school again so as to become a spanish-teacher/interpreter eventually.
