Put em both in a ring and let 'em slug it out, that way it's a fair fight without people ganging up on one or the other and playing favourites.

Both of 'em have good points to make, and both have made statements which you might not agree with. It's an internet forum which unlike Cubase's forum (which would have locked and deleted the thread within about 3 posts and banned some of the participants) is very lightly moderated, so both of 'em are free to voice their opinions.

C'mon Russ, the Nazi comment is a bit below the belt and actually could be the one thing that leads to the thread being locked - under German law, you are not supposed to use the 'n' word and I've seen only about 3 threads ever locked or deleted here in the 4 years I've been coming on the board, 2 of those were for references to that situation. You could have said something like we'd better get the cowbells and yodellers out and entice Dave out with Toblerone or something instead if we wanted to go with some racial stereotypes

More a fact really than a stereotype, the Swiss have nazi gold, that's known. It's unlikely that Dave has any true, but...you never know!

What about some French racial stereotypes for 3phase - that must surely come easier than Swiss ones, especially for us Brits ...

It's possible (although unlikely) that 3phase's distant relatives collaborated with the Nazis .... or at least very possible that they hate the English at any rate. The Swiss don't hate anyone - they'll take anyone's money !!

Not very amusing though. We can surely do something funnier, to a country who refer to use as les rosbifs, former Prime Minister Edith Cresson referring to all British men as homosexuals and then foisting their crappy automobiles and listeria riddled soft cheeses onto us, Charles de Gaulle blackballing us from admission to the European Union (the thanks we get for the loss of tens of thousands of British soldiers on French soil trying to return the country to freedom from the Nazi regime) not to mention cheating Thierry Henry robbing the Irish with his handball (who hate us as much as or more than the French, but we'll use that ammunition) Let's summon the troops and have another 100 years war

Well, it seems like I didn't do enough reading to properly make a comment.

All I read was Perman saying "fill in bug reports" and 3phase going "i ain't going to fill in bug reports but i want it to work", so hopefully i'm forgiven for taking sides.

As for Nazi gold....yep, i'm sure they're harbouring tons of it in their vaults. Not sure about its true value though, the whole gold market just doesn't seem real to me. The Incas treasured it for its softness and therefore its use in sculpting objects etc but it wasn't revered as an expensive commodity as it is today. Yeah it's got some electical properties (great conductor of electricity) but if the shit hit the fan and there was a world calamity, gold is going to be pretty worthless.
