Once more because it's relevant again in this conversation. lol.

 I just wonder at which point in my post you read language like that?

There's no sensitive hippy bullshit about 'touching the music'. quite simply touching shit is more fun!

I'll put it in language you might understand.

Would you rather watch a porno and dream about your favourite girl, or have her in your bed and get involved? :P

lol. I just haven't felt that undying love and connection with a knob like I do with, say, 10 strings.

Seriously though. The idea of sliding my finger across a piece of glass to control my sound is very sexy.

OK less than 24 hours after this was posted I'm already less excited about it. I think I was more excited about the HA IN YOUR FACES!!! posts it inspired.

TBH I'll probably just use the iPad similarly to how I use my iPhone, a bunch of retarded simpleton time wasting games. I already own an Electribe I never use along with the 75% of other music gear and software I own and never use. This ain't changing my game, at least as far as music. Maybe if they come out with an app to squelch inspiration crushing but not publicly noticeable depression.

I'm not surprised, but don't underestimate the draw of online ordering. I have a Guitar Center within walking distance from me and I still make all my music purchases online. Throw in the shit economy, and as has been pointed out, the general public is still scratching their heads over this thing. At least the iPhone makes phone calls and that's something the general public can understand. This thing just defies most logic or immediate need.

The Apple store lines may look a little different tomorrow morning...or not.

All it's going to take is a HOT app to get you salivating once again.

Too much damn reading for a Friday night, but in summary does it say only Line6 can develop apps that will work with their MIDI hardware unless another developer somehow partners with them?

That's like saying you can't program with Flash (legally) without kicking down some corn to Adobe! :P

But yeah, that sucks. In the short term it's probably going to create little monopolies where the consumer is going to have to subsidize the kick downs.

However, this won't effect the control surfaces which was the thing we were originally excited about it.

A friend of mine just got it and gave me his thoughts on it. Sounds good, knobs come in circular mode by default, but there is a linear mode options, still a little touchy though. You can reskin it too, use your own images but the knobs and buttons stay where they are. Kind of cool.

kool, will be interesting to see how feature requests/updates are handled. Would be a much better control experience if those knobs weren't sitting over each other...
