If apps are going to connect to a DAW via OSC, the need for an all-encompasing app is greater than ever. Who wants to load a new TouchOSC template then set the app controls mid-song if you want to go from something like LiveControl to Pianist Pro?
What's badly needed is a controller app WITH a keyboard AND drumpads AND a monome/launchpad grid interface.....
Well, first vid I've seen of drumming via the iPad. Pretty. Fucking. Tight.

Unbelievably short latency! Probably due to video editing. I don't think you can have a latency like this via wifi.

According to traceroute I get a 3ms latency using adhoc wifi network from ipod touch to macbook pro.

3ms is more than acceptable.

CV Generator: generates audio signals which may be used in conjunction with suitable hardware to control analogue synthesizers via Control Voltages (CVs).

And for all you uber-geeks:
In case some of you didn’t know, you can already install
Pure Data on an iPad, iPhone, or iPod-Touch. Creating and uploading your own sound-processing and sound-generating patches is as trivial as copying a text file to your device. And because Pd patches are treated as media files, they don’t have to go through Apple’s elaborate code review, so you can just dive right in, turning your phone into a pocket synth within minutes.

Tenori On style matrix synthesizer.
Whether you are an experienced musician or dont have a musical bone in your body, you can make great music on your iPhone, with Aurora our pattern based musical sequencing software.
At the time I was probably the first and only person in Chicago to own a Tenori-On. It was a lot of fun but expensive or what it was and I couldn’t justify keeping it around. I ended up selling it on Ebay for $400 more than what I originanlly bought it for.
Now this on the other hand looks like it takes the Tenori-On to a whole another level. Can’t wait for it to become available.

Yeah, I'm using Pure Data now on my iPad with Pianist Pro. Works great.

AirPipes is a WiFi-based wireless MIDI Irish Bagpipes/Flute/Whistle control surface for the iPad.
The chanter fingerings are based on those used for the Uilleann pipes and will also be immediately familiar to Irish pennywhistle and flute players.
This app supports two independent wireless MIDI channels, emulating the operation of the drones and chanter of a half set of Uilleann pipes.
The app doesn't produce any sound itself, it is designed for controlling hardware or software VST-style MIDI synthesizers via a WiFi connection to a Windows or Mac OS X based computer.
Multiple iPads can run the app on the same wireless network, each sending messages on its own set of MIDI channels to the hardware or software synthesizer.

Maybe it would be better to discuss that in The Lounge instead of trying to derail this thread.
