8 years is enough for a newly born baby to learn to do amazing things like walking, talking, thinking, solving problems ...

now how can it not be long enough for Live programmers to do the same!
it never ends. neither does it begin where you think it does. its only in your mind.

But the child take more or less time to get mature and intelligent, in some rare cases he becomes
autistic and don't care what suroundind environment is asking him.

Autom to session might come now without a rewrite, I hope so , but if it don't
we will really need then to hammer for a rewrite, cause whatever they may say as lame escuses, remember
a rewrite is ALWAYS possible.

it took less than 3 years for Cubase to fully rewrite the soft, while being the major used soft at this time.
it took less than 2 years for Microsoft to swich from W3.1 to W95, affecting BW compatibilities and users habits.
it took less than 2 years for Discreet to rewrite 3Dstudio wich has at least 5x more code.
it took less than 1 year for Olivier Sens to rewrite half of usine code while beeing alone at dev.
ect ect

Now who will says those rewrites were bad decisions? Who wanted to stay on MS-dos?
it's a matter of decisions only. Either you keep your weird core, and loose energy patching on top of that,
for a product that will, anyway be flawly. or you refresh it with a clean restart, especially
when there are deep flaws in main structure. maybe it will have taken 10 years to ableton to figure that.

"NO AUTOMATION TO SESSION VIEW!!???? WTF!!??? YOU SUCK ASS!!!!!!!!"

I barely escaped with my life and my half assed DAW.

You are absolutely right. People can play ripping sets with Live. There is no point in discussing live recording of clip modulation any further. Everyone! Get back to the discussion of compressors and native instruments products.

Oh yeah, and people can put a MP3 and make people think they play live, they will still dance.

indeed, why do i bother producing. mmmmm

If you are the kind of guys that only work with pre_made loops or don't automate indeed you don't care.
But if you spend time to create and automate your own stuff, the actual workflow totally sucks and make
you loose 50 percent of your daily time by using weird workarounds, and it simply can't stay like this.

i have to go to work and sleep sometimes, don't you?

hoffman has chosen a righ picture. fanboys follow the carrots.

and if the carrot means loopstation zebra waiting for my answer, that' exactly my point:

i wait that from 7 years personnally, and Im a bit fed up loosing my time and inspiration eveyday i want to make music,

so i would prefer them to take 2 years to rewrite, on the long term run we will all be more productive, at least i will.

I have to commend you on putting up with a broken way of working for 7 years though. I know that I would have changed my workflow a bit in order to suit the tools at hand. :)

oh yeah, so what workflow do you suggest me for this:

_make your own music with advanced automations live reced.
_play this as a real session liveset paterns and not presequenced arrange.

kind of a live oriented tool presuposed abilities no?

so, explain me your magic workflow for this 2 simplethings Mr, ill be glad to change my habits.

if 3phaze is the 3phaze i think he is
i mixed several of his records that were quite succesful relases in the 90-00 underground tekno scene in france,
so at least i know he has a bit of clue about sound.

ok he is a bit cash, unsocial and often ranting on many points, will destroy any potential fanboy he meet,
but i think we need people like him.

Live is great, certainly, but it's far from perfect and this issue is drastic for the worklow. he spreads on lot of issues
while I focus on the main one.

so yes ive got some links to 3phaze, feel free to quote me on that one.
