Hi,

We fixed the crash on Lion. We should have a new beta in the coming days with the fix. It was Cocoa related, revealed only by the latest Lion update, but not entirely Apple's fault.

Thank you for your candid comment. It would be nice to have a general statement of direction when Lion will be out about Ableton live compatibility. I know these are hard times for developers... Lion,W8, W7...iOS 5... Good luck!

Native Instruments has conducted initial compatibility tests with pre-release versions of Mac OS X 10.7, and has found an issue that causes the 64-bit versions of NI applications to crash both when used stand-alone and as a plug-in.*

The cause of this issue has been successfully determined, and updates for the affected products are currently in development, with their respective release planned for September or earlier. In the meantime, users should utilize the 32-bit versions of the respective NI applications**, or consider to refrain from updating to Mac OS X 10.7 for the time being.

Native Instruments has observed no additional compatibility issues under Mac OS X 10.7 yet, but will conduct further systematic tests once it has access to the final release version of the operating system. New information will be provided on this page as it becomes available.

Please note that all versions of TRAKTOR and KORE are 32-bit applications only, and therefore not affected by this issue regardless.

Do you mean Native Instruments, Lion, or 64 bit programs in general?

Funny enough - mentioning spotlight reminds me - please ableton - for gods sake speed up library searches for missing samples - 20 mins for live to full a drum rack vs 5 seconds for NI battery to do the same search over the same folders to locate and auto-fill for missing samples just isnt funny at all - it really isnt a useable feature if you have a half decent size sample library. Factor of 100x speedup is needed here.

I never use Live's search - always used Spotlight and just drag the folder to the "search folder" in the missing samples browser, it's much quicker

I've always upgraded OS's the day Apple releases them, can't remember ever having a single issue with music apps doing so.

I remember a few years back when Apple went from Jag to Tiger (i think that's what it was). You weren't even allowed to run Pro Tools oh man, that drove people nuts. That issue didn't get fixed for a while too. I'm gonna wait and see what everyone else says. It will most likely work for everyone in the world and the minute I install it, i'll get some strange error that no one has ever heard of before.
