As far as "fear of the black keys" goes. The white ones are just easier to hammer percussive rhythms for me. I don't use arpeggiators, i play them. Sounds like a fun idea though to see how many songs I can write that don't use any white keys. .
I
do actually prefer the black keys, mainly because I am not a great keyboard player and usually manage to create something I like on the black keys. But I think it's mainly because you're basically playing a pentatonic scale that way. So I transpose the keyboard up a semitone and it keeps it in more guitar friendly keys
that's another big point though - being a guitar player tends to mean I stick for the obvious guitar keys a lot of the time, just because it sounds nicer with open strings etc. - except I do experiment with tunings and capos some times if the key is not great for vocals

I like black keys too. They poke out and so I'm less likely to hit the others at the same time! They don't always fit depending what's happening with my other notes.
If you have a brass section then they're generally more keen on the flatter keys (F, Eb, Ab, Db) or C. A lot of big band jazz is in them, or maybe just the one sharp occasionally.

My favourite Notes:
C
C#
D#
E
F
F#
G#
A#
B
I realy like dissonance, if you notice, only the A# doesn't have a nearby note for some sweet dissonance
Keys are overated
Baroque has ended

Melodies pop into my head.
Check it on the piano, that's the key I'm writing the song.
