That was for me at first but after looking at its feature set and price tag Maschine is a lot more powerful for a little less money. I like some of the changes in 9 and I am worried that Ableton will take my 64 bit Live 8 beta away if I don't upgrade and I don't want to reinstall my plug ins as 32 bit. That's a large task. The last time I reloaded all of my vsts it took a day.
But Push works with Sampler which is waaaaaay way WAY more powerful than Maschine's sampler as far as I know.

Honestly, I just want a hardware step sequencer for Ableton with a good, sensitive nudge ability. And Push has that. And more. Plus I live with my parents right now so it's not like saving up for this is gonna be putting me on someone else's couch for a month :P

If you can get over the teeny tiny gui. I personally don't use Live devices because they are way too small. Would rather have a big vst window to look at. In fact I am trying to sell Operator for the same reason. I wish they were scalable it would make them a lot easier to use because they are powerful. Either way I have Kontakt no need for Sampler.

Fair enough. Yea it seems like the Maschine vs Push thing is largely preference rather than one having a set of features that definitely places it above the other. Push for me :D

EDIT: It also helps that I don't use vst's at all really. I tend to buy hardware if I want a plugin that Live doesn't really have and/or doesn't have to the quality of my liking (cough, overdrive, cough)..

makes sense. i don't use many stock daw tools at all really. maybe as starting points but i generally find something i like better in vst format. i gave up my hardwrae years ago for the most part though I recently got an Akai Miniak.
