Does anyone know if the 8.4-beta (64 bit) will auto-update to the 8.4 final, or do we have to manually install it? I also noticed my 8.3.4 32 bit was updated to 8.4, and I lost the suite splash graphic (b&w) and it's now the regular Live 8 color splash, but I have all my suite stuff enabled...I prefer the color anyway!

Well, to answer my own q, it didn't seem to auto-update from beta to final, so I just downloaded the final 64bit, uninstalled beta, and installed the final.

Whats all this final talk?

Just because L9 is coming soon doesnt make this final?!;):)

Edit: ohhh, i get it... Final Live 8.4 (meaning 8.4 is out of beta) .. Not final Live8

Yeah, that's it ... in fact I checked on my download page and there's no mention of "final" ... it's just the thread title AFAIK. Live 7 was updated for a good 6 months after Live 8 was release, if I recall.

I grabbed the 64 bit version but it looks like it is pointing to the same library? Is that ok? I am hoping Live 9 (should I get it next week...probably will) will put its own library in place and separate folders.

Is there no change to the library itself, rather nothing to be concerned with at this point?

Yup, same library for Live 8 32 bit and Live 8 64 bit. This is good, as who would want two copies of the library for 32/64 bit versions? The source content is the same. However, there's a different library for Live 9 beta (32 & 64 bit), and this means different lib for Live 9 when it's released.

ok, as long as it installs in its own area and whatnot so as not to mess with any Live 8 32/64 bit then I'm good with that. Looks like I will be upgrading.....now to get off my ass and start making more music again.
