Great ideas in this post! But how do I assign velocity to other perimeters than the velocity itself?

it depends on the instrument... look at some of the drop down menus in simpler, operator, or impulse for starters.

oh and if you want the supatrigga settings, it's default with granularity at 8, and slow probability set to 0%

Set your BPM to halftime when you play your melodies... then speed it up and have a listen...

kinda like this / half your BPM but run your drums at 3/4 or 2/4 time

nope.
just slow ableton right down to halftime, play your midi, and then speed it up again and have a listen.
this technique really kicks ass, especially when combined with scale plugins

Well I have to say, when I bought my APC40 and Ableton I knew that I was moving into the right direction. I had no idea about EFX like this though. Mind blowing. Why do so many people diss Ableton hey?

FF1 mode on the compressors doesn't click when you sidechain.

that supertrigger fade is great for master FX sends!
I was using a rack on the master channel, and having midi clips to automate various mute and gain parameters in effects on the chain to achieve big master verb swells and other dramatic master FX like that, but I think this is much more elegant.
you can just have clips to change the from FX to FX and use the X-fadder for much nice control than relying on utility gain envelopes.
