The logic is a little messy, but with the device "Gate Mode" turned on, trigger should play the clip again based on the clip quantization; the clip should be in TRIGGER mode. Let me know if you get erratic results-- it was a little confusing for me to make this work since when the clip is stopped the device should send one fire signal but if the clip is playing it needs to send two fire signals (in trigger mode, one to turn the clip off and one more to turn it back on). My brain sometimes has a hard time thinking in M4L.

Did it work in TOGGLE mode? I think I made a typo mistake I didn't mean to say trigger. I also noticed it doesn't work in with quantization other than NONE.

I wanted to say thank you one more time for your work! Since then I use my PLAY ALL device all the time and it works like a charm!

Now I am trying to figure out if it is possible to develop this device to make one more thing:

1) When I press a "magic button" it will stop all the clips that are playing at the moment EXCEPT the clip that a "magic button" is assign to.

So I have 8 tracks and all of the clips in those tracks are playing. Now I press "magic button" on Track 4 and it stops all the clips except the one in Track 4. Thanks to that only clip in Track 4 is playing.

Now if I want to do it I have 2 choices:
1) Stop all the clips except 4, what is pretty hard because I need to press 7 buttons mapped to those tracks very quickly.
2) Stop the clip in Track 4, wait one bar and than press Toggle. Unfortunately than I have one bar that is playing without Track 4 and of course it is time consuming.

Any ideas?

I can a look. I haven't done Max for a few months so it may take me a couple of tries to remember the code.

I took that code and integrated it into the original TriggerPlayGate device which is now TriggerPlayGateStop. Maybe that is convenient to have only one device if you like.

Thanks guys! It works excatly like it should My question is, since I already started to test it in my "live" enviroment, I noticed some inconvenience. So is it possible to extend it just a little bit? Now it works like this:

- All the 8 clips are playing. I press "Stop Others" on track 4. After the bar passes (my global quantization is 1 Bar) only clip 4 is playing. Great. But if I want to Solo more clips before the bar passes - it is impossible because it stops all the clips.

So what I want to do is:

- All the 8 clips are playing. Now I press "Stop Others" on track 4, 5 and 6. After the bar passes, clips 4, 5 and 6 are playing, but the rest is stopped. I would describe this function as "reversed toggle" because normaly pressing clips 4,5 and 6 would stop them and left the other clips playing (because as you remember my clips are in toggle mode). But with "reversed toggle" it keep them playing and stop the others.
