Does the workarounds do it in your case?

I don't think this must be very hard to fix, but it's probably doesn't have high priority as the amount of people complaining about this are few. As it takes just a second to press escape, then return (if I remember correctly) I'm one of them, even if this have happened about 5 times the last 6 months.

Hitting the down arrow works too.

Yup running the beta and it still does it, but I find after clicking ok just click on another preset and it saves but won't change the channel name

Hard to believe that almost 3 years later and ableton have STILL not fixed this bug

This bug was introduced in 9 with the new browser, and I am still stumped as yo why it is STILL not fixed.

I would seriously recommend to not use the Live browser to move files around, just to load and save files if that is the possible outcome you are having. I have seen the error a couple of times when saving a file and the file does not save. Try a second time and it goes through. But I don't use the browser to shift things around at all. I usually right-click and locate the files then move them in explorer.

I'm on Mac and I have never lost data via this issue the few times (Maybe 30 in total) I've had it. How do you know Live deleted the data and that you just didn't displace it? How do you know it isn't the OS? Checked the logs?

Been experiencing this for years. It's ridiculous this still happens in Live 9. I personally find it happens 50% of the time, if not more... Especially prominent when saving over presets

Its happening right now, almost every time.

What a complete joke that Ableton can't fix this STILL.

I haven't seen this problem in years. It's very possible this is related to file permission issues in the file system and isn't a Live issue. Though the last note in my communications with Ableton support was about the Ableton indexer. I haven't had any issues with the indexer since though.

I do have made deep repairs of my user folder permissions since though. And since I did that I haven't seen this problem, but it's not that I had it a lot in 2014 either.

Oh I can recreate this instantly, folder permissions are set correct.
