That Midi Controller is The Type of Thing WE NEED...
well done Living_Fiction.
Below is the last plan drawing for people to carve up...
If we had that for real ---
they could carve up beats instead

Hehe, which one? The "Touch Screen" idea, or the Programable Keypad I posted?
BTW, 2kilo, you have some nice clean designs. You could easly, use them for making beats on the fly, and then performing it back, all right on the fly. I love the idea.

@Living_Fiction
cheers mate...
my only problem from doing this in the past is that the "manufacturers" take no bloody notice...
If people want a descent control surface then the only way I reckon we can get these companies to listen is if enough of us stand behind a "rough" idea and nag the gits untill they make something similar...
That said it does not have to be the ultimate design, just something to explain our needs/wishes....

Word, brother, word. I couldn't have said it better, myself. You'd think companies like Rane, Pioneer, Denon, Korg, etc...Would have came up with something by now. I know there alot of MIDI music making devices, but what about controllers themselves? We need something heavy duty/durable, as well as very responsive. In simple terms, we need professional grade gear to go with this amazing program.

I would say make the Pots have "click" points in the center position (12 o'clock) like a DJ mixer. This helps you find the 0 dB point on EQs or Gain knobs without having to look at the screen.

Seems like yamaha have been out biting products - it looks remarkably like the GRID controller, or whatever it was called. I don't care.If it gets mass-produced and sub-800$ then I'm friggin' buying four of them!

Word. That is sweet. I'd personally do it, but I really kind of like having a mixed match thing with a bunch of different stuff to do each task.

I could easly see this being a better choice for more "Moble" DJ's. I personally like the mad scientist mixture of hardware, though. Haha.

I also perfer being able to just plug in each part, instead of having to build it. I'm usually all about building, but I'm not skilled in that area of building, and if I did something wrong, it would suck. I seriously want to learn how to build these suckers well, though. I'm talking full out customisation, builing the entire thing from scratch.

Anybody used one of these?
Since my logitech mouse is down I use my touchpad for everything.
I´m very happy with it now, well a good setup in preferences helps a lot, but considering to buy a kensington expert mouse or perhaps this one. I suppose it´s larger than a laptop touchpad?
Greetings

Create Digital Music blog pointed me at this cheap(er) version of a lemur - it uses back projection.
If you are rich kind of guy who has a projector perhaps you can combine your light show and your interface?

I thought concluded that AL doesn't support OSC? Trust me, I suggested Touch Screen in the Feature Wishlist forum!
I did find some manuals on how to build a MIDI controller -- Hoever, I would rather find someone knows how to do it right, so if I mess up, or something, I would know what went exactly wrong. I love to build, though. I'm very "Geeky" like that.
